If you’re buying a home for sale in Long Beach, you’ll be glad to know that there are dozens of amazing parks, playgrounds, nature centers and green spaces just waiting for you to come explore – and these are five of our favorites.

5 Best Parks in Long Beach, CA

#1: El Dorado Nature Center

Tucked between the San Gabriel River and the 605 Freeway – an unlikely spot for such amazing flora and fauna – you’ll find the El Dorado Nature Center. This remarkable paradise covers 105 acres that provides sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife. There are 2 miles of dirt trails, as well as an 0.25-mile paved trail, that wind around two lakes, a stream and forests. The visitor center is located on a tiny island in the lake, where you’ll find educational displays, a great little art gallery and a gift shop.

#2: Shore Line Aquatic Park

The Shore Line Aquatic Park, located between Long Beach Arena and the Downtown Shoreline Marina is a beautiful green space perfect for picnicking and checking out amazing views of the Queen Mary Ship, the Long Beach skyline and the Aquarium of the Pacific. The beautiful lighthouse tower has a paved, spiral walkway perfect for a stroll.

#3: Livingston Drive Park

The Livingston Drive Park, located at 4700 East Livingston Drive in Belmont Shore, has a brand-new tot lot and several age-appropriate play areas for kids. This gated playground is known for its friendly atmosphere, super-clean structures and kids’ favorites: the swing sets.

#4: Marina Vista Park

This waterfront park, located at 5355 East Eliot Street in Long Beach, features two soccer fields, a picnic area, a great playground, tennis courts and a softball diamond. The park is perfectly manicured and features a shaded play space for kids – and it’s a great place for a birthday party. This dog-friendly park has plenty of parking, too, so you won’t have to hunt for a space to enjoy the fun.

#5: Bixby Knolls Park

Bixby Knolls Park is at 1000 East San Antonio Drive, between Orange and Atlantic. This park is quiet and shaded. Large, green expanses are perfect for playing Frisbee, tag or reading a book. There are grills for barbecue, a fenced-in playground and plenty of sidewalks to stroll around on.
