If you’re a foodie who’s buying a home for sale in Lakewood or any of the surrounding communities, you’re going to love knowing that we have dozens of amazing restaurants here – and some of the very best will likely be right around the corner from your new house.

These are five of our favorite restaurants in Lakewood.

5 Must-Try Restaurants in Lakewood, CA

Whether you’re looking for good, old-fashioned American fare or you want something with international flavor, you’ll find it in this community.

#1: Humblebrags Eatery

Humblebrags Eatery
3225 East Carson Street

Humblebrags Eatery serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as cocktails. Some of our favorites on the menu are the heirloom tomato and burrata salad, chicken pesto pasta and the humbleburger (it’s amazing – it’s got lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, cheddar and spicy aioli). The kid-friendly menu includes burgers and fries, grilled cheese, quesadillas and an amazing 6-ounce flat iron steak.

#2: Heritage Family Pantry

Heritage Family Pantry
2601 East Carson Street

The Heritage Family Pantry, known all over Lakewood and Long Beach for baking their own bread – and it really is delicious – is a great place to stop and grab a home-cooked meal while you’re out and about. Some of the best menu items are the mushroom swiss burger, the chicken fettucine alfredo and the grilled red snapper. This cozy restaurant has really friendly waitstaff, too, which makes it the perfect place for a fast lunch or dinner.

#3: George’s Greek Café

George’s Greek Café
5252 Faculty Avenue

George’s Greek Café is a cozy little place that serves lunch and dinner, as well as wines, craft beer and craft cocktails. (They also offer Sunday brunch.) Some of our favorites on the menu include the combo appetizer plate, packed with dolmathes, spanakopites, kalamari and gyro feta falafel. The lamb chops and shrimp souvlaki are delectable, as is the flat iron steak and the pastitso. Grab some baklava when you’re done, too – it’s a can’t-miss.

#4: Vino e Cucina

Vino e Cucina
4501 East Carson Street

This cozy, authentic Italian dining room offers amazing regional dishes in a great environment. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is some of the best Italian we’ve ever found in the area. Start with the bruschetta campagnola or the Scampi Portofino, then check out the Penne al Forno, Rigatoni al Profumo di Bosco, or Gnocchi Almafi, or try the Linguine allo Scoglio or Fettucine al Salmone. You’ll be glad you did!

#5: Mamma’s Sushi

Mamma’s Sushi
5679 Woodruff Avenue

Open seven days a week, Mamma’s Sushi is the place to be for lunch or dinner (check it out during Happy Hour, too – you’ll have a great time). You can order combos – we suggest the teriyaki beef and sashimi or the chicken and tempura – or a plate of chirashi. You can watch the chefs put together your order, too. This quiet, unassuming little place is one of the most popular in the area, and the food is always fresh and served quickly.
