If you’re buying a home in Lakewood or Long Beach, you’ll love being so close to Knott’s Berry Farm – and if you haven’t been there yet, here’s what you need to know.

Knott’s Berry Farm: A Great Place to Spend the Day

Knott’s Berry Farm, located at 8039 Beach Boulevard in Buena Park, is just a short drive from Long Beach and Lakewood. (Check out the calendar with hours here.)

Packed with rides and plenty of mini-attractions, Knott’s Berry Farm is great for people of all ages. You’ll find an Old West ghost town and plenty of special events scheduled throughout the year, including:

  • January 27 – February 25: Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration. You can “step inside” the pages of a comic strip and watch the PEANUTS take over the whole park.

  • March 16 – April 8: Knott’s Boysenberry Festival. This massive celebration, dedicated to the boysenberry, will feature more than 80 boysenberry-inspired dishes, entertainment and a Wine and Craft Brew Tasting Garden. The party lasts all day while the festival is happening.

  • May 26 – August 19: Ghost Town Alive! Each summer, Ghost Town Alive! comes to Knott’s Berry Farm, so you can get up-close-and-personal with cowboys and bandits, and you can join in a hoedown. You’ll experience an authentic Western adventure while you’re there.

While you’re visiting, make sure you visit Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The restaurant first opened in 1934, with Mrs. Knott at the helm – and the beautiful traditions held over the years are still there today. When you order dinner, you’ll be treated to handmade biscuits, salad, cabbage or cherry rhubarb, and plenty of fried chicken and gravy. Naturally, you’ll get boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet for dessert! (You don’t have to order fried chicken, though – they have a pretty varied menu.)
